Chat
You can chat directly with other users via your buddy list, and through the chat panel next to games that you're playing at Bunchball.com.
The top area of the chat window will show you the messages that have been sent so far from you and others in the chat. If the conversation is long, a scroll bar will appear on the right to allow you to see previous entries. When the chat window first opens, you will also see a list of all the participants in the chat session or game, along with whether they're online or not. The bottom area of the chat window is where you enter messages that you want to send. Type your message here and click Send.
Tip: Click on the List Players icon in the top right corner of the chat window to see an updated list of all the users who are part of the game or chat session. All of these users can see the content of the chat, even if they don't contribute. So don't say anything mean about them, unless you want them to see it.
Emoticons are small graphics that you can enter in a chat conversation, like a smiley face.

To send an emoticon, you enter a code for the desired emoticon in the chat entry field and click Send. The emoticon graphic will appear in the conversation string.
Tip: You can send emoticons by themselves, or before or after text. But if you enter the code for an emoticon with text before and after, some of your message may be scrambled.
Here are some of the emoticon codes that are available for use in Bunchball chat:

Embedded Chat
When you embed chat along with a game into a web page the send box is on the left and the message log is on the right. Emoticons work in embedded chat just like in normal chat. In embedded games, all the visitors to the page will be assigned random names. If a visitor wants to have a unique name for themselves, they can click on the small green name button in the lower left of the chat window and enter a new name. Subsequent chat messages will appear to be from the new name.
