The Bunchball team is seeking a world-class platform engineer to help us build the premier platform for driving user engagement across web sites.

Primary Job Responsibilities

• Design and implementation of several major subsystems in the Nitro platform.
• Ownership of technology and platform strategy for back-end services and end-user web applications.
• Definition, maintenance, and enforcement of best practices in design, coding, and implementation across the entire development team.

Required Skills/Experience

• 6+ years experience building and maintaining systems for high performance, availability, and scalability
• BS or higher in computer science
• Expertise applying modern J2EE frameworks, including Spring and Hibernate, across multiple projects
• Expertise in SQL and database tuning and optimization. MySQL experience desirable.
• Experience with a variety of web application frameworks, such as Struts, JSF, or Spring MVC. Familiarity with Ajax techniques and toolkits such as Dojo, DWR, or GWT. Adobe Flex experience desirable.
• Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, combined with a passion for teaching and learning
• Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
• Demonstrated ability to understand and master new technologies quickly
• Thrives on developing innovative ideas and executing them in a fast-paced, rapidly moving startup environment
