FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
REDWOOD CITY, CA — JULY 2, 2007 — Bunchball, the leading provider of community games and services for online destinations, was voted the Best Company in the Games Category by the judges at last week’s Under the Radar Conference. Bunchball’s social gaming service beat out some of the most innovative names in online gaming, including Kongregate, Hothead Games and Flowplay.
To receive this title in the Games category, companies were evaluated on their product innovation as well as the soundness of their business models. Bunchball was voted best in its category by a panel of respected judges including David Hornik of August Capital, Sam Klepper of MSN Media Network Group and Alexander Marquez of Intel Capital.
“We have been steadily building Bunchball over the past two years, attracting and partnering with some of the largest media companies on the Internet today. Currently NBC, Facebook, Warner Brothers, Lifetime and more have chosen Bunchball as their social gaming services provider, making their websites more sticky,” said Rajat Paharia, founder and CEO of Bunchball. “The Web 2.0 and VC community have been keeping a close eye on our business and this honor adds even more credibility to what we are offering. We want to thank everyone who voted for Bunchball at the conference and for their belief in what we are doing.”
Bunchball’s social gaming services are a vehicle for building customer loyalty and providing new and better ways for people to interact in online communities. With a portfolio of casual games that can quickly be customized to fit the needs of any online community, Bunchball games act as a catalyst for social interaction and aid in cultivating a sense of community online.
Under the Radar began as an evening networking event in April 2003. After months of sold-out events, we were urged by our network of executives and VCs to create a full-day event: effectively a one-stop shop to evaluate and explore new business opportunities, partnerships, potential investments, and trends in several technology sectors. In 2007, IBDNetwork became Dealmaker Media, and Under the Radar continues to be one of the most respected and attended technology conferences in Silicon Valley. Bunchball is the leading provider of social gaming services for web sites of all sizes.
