Client goal: Find new ways to engage users with the Playboy brand and attract a younger demographic.
Solution: Using Bunchball's Nitro platform, Playboy created a Facebook app called Miss Social. Using the Miss Social app, Playboy hosted a month-long competition where any woman who aspired to be in Playboy could submit her photos and try to win more votes on any given day of the month than anyone else that participated. The winner would be crowned Miss Social for a month and stood a chance of winning a pictorial on Playboy.com. Users could also engage in other activities on Facebook to generate more votes, or encourage their friends to save up their votes for a particular day. Playboy has seen an 85% rate of re-engagement and a 60% improvement in revenues from one month to the next.
