How a leading CRM provider transformed a diverse community of instructors into rockstars

Through their training community, the world’s largest provider of customer relationship management (CRM) software engages dozens of experts located throughout the world to teach nine intensive, hands-on training courses to administrators, developers, solution designers, technical architects, and end users. Classes generally last three to five days and are delivered live in major metropolitan cities, in addition to distance learning environments.

The company wanted to achieve two overall objectives with gamification:

  1. Motivate all instructors to collaborate more regularly and meaningfully with one another via the company’s online instructor community.
  2. Replace the old “Instructor Club” program – a primitive gamification experience that saw limited participation – with a gamified community that integrates natively with Salesforce Chatter and creates dynamic challenges aimed at improving engagement.
